Nolte Landscape Arts

01

My Artistic Journey

I’m Tobias Nolte, a self-taught artist with a passion for expressive landscape painting. My love for art began in childhood when I drew on my nursery walls with wax crayons and painted trees or rainbows in kindergarten. Ironically, despite struggling with art in school, my earliest surviving artwork from that time is already a landscape, painted with watercolors! I created it at the age of 11 (with a little help from my mother ;-)).

02

A New Beginning

After years of focusing on school and my studies in geosciences, I rediscovered painting when I moved into a new apartment. I wanted to create a large autumn forest landscape with mountains and red trees for my bedroom. That painting reignited my passion, and from then on, art became the perfect counterbalance to my analytical job.

03

The First Steps

In August 2023, I took a bold step and held my very first public exhibition, where I sold my first painting! It was a magical moment that fueled my drive to keep going and improve. After this event, I connected with other artists in Kassel, and together we organized exhibitions. I was able to sell new artworks and received overwhelmingly positive feedback on my paintings. Since September 2024, some of my landscapes have been on display at the IntercityHotel Kassel, adding a touch of nature to some parts of the hotel.

04

Art and Nature

Nature is my greatest inspiration. Whether hiking through forests, gazing at the sea, or exploring vast landscapes, these experiences find their way onto my canvas. But my art isn't about photorealism but about evoking emotion through color, abstraction, and atmosphere, capturing the essence of a place rather than its exact details. I love to exaggerate colors or add new elements to create a unique mood.

05

Making Art Accessible

My mission is to bring fresh energy into landscape paintings, making it modern, exciting, and inspiring for everyone. Art should be for all, regardless of budget or lifestyle. It should be more than an elitist luxury. Through my landscapes, I want to show that art can bring joy, inspiration, and beauty into everyday life and also into every situation.
